Diesel EN 590, Jet A-1 and other refined petroleum products

We broker refined petroleum products between refineries, trading houses, distributors and industrial consumers, in compliance with applicable sanctions regimes.

In brief

Products: diesel EN 590, Jet A-1, fuel oil (VLSFO, HFO) and base oils.

Every transaction is screened against EU and international sanctions; origin is documented.

Quantity and quality are confirmed by independent inspection at the loading terminal.

How do you buy diesel EN 590 in bulk?

After verification of both sides, buyer and seller agree on product, quantity, Incoterms®, inspection and payment. The product is delivered by vessel, in a tank storage transfer or by truck, and payment is made through a bank instrument against documents.

Common delivery forms are FOB at the loading port, CIF to the destination port or an in-tank transfer in a storage terminal. Quantity and quality are confirmed by an independent inspection company.

Why do sanctions matter in oil trading?

Many countries and products are subject to EU, UN or other sanctions. A transaction that violates them is illegal and can lead to frozen payments, seized cargoes and criminal liability.

We check the origin of the product, the counterparties and the vessels involved before contracting. The current EU sanctions are listed in the EU Sanctions Map.

What is EN 590 diesel?

EN 590 is the European standard for automotive diesel. It sets limits for, among other things, sulphur content (max. 10 mg/kg), cetane number, density and flash point.

Diesel to other national standards can also be brokered. The applicable specification is part of the contract and is verified at inspection.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Commodity trading questions, answered

What quantities do you broker for petroleum products?

Cargo sizes depend on product, delivery form and the parties involved; we do not publish fixed volumes or prices. Tell us your requirement and we will check, after verification of both sides, what is realistic.

Do you work with procedures such as ICPO, SPA and POP?

We follow the procedure agreed between the parties and the documents required by banks and terminals. Offers that require advance payments without verifiable goods are not pursued.

Do you supply marine fuels?

Fuel oil such as VLSFO can be brokered in cargo quantities. Ship bunkering is handled by licensed bunker suppliers in the respective port.

What is ULSD?

ULSD stands for ultra low sulphur diesel. In Europe, diesel under EN 590 meets this description with a sulphur limit of 10 mg/kg.

What is the difference between VLSFO and HFO?

VLSFO (very low sulphur fuel oil) has a sulphur content of max. 0.50%, in line with the IMO 2020 global limit for ships. HFO has a higher sulphur content and may only be used on ships with exhaust gas cleaning systems or where permitted.

What is a Q88?

The Q88 is a standard questionnaire describing a tanker’s particulars, such as dimensions, tank capacity and certificates. Terminals and charterers use it to check whether a vessel is suitable.

What does a tank storage transfer mean?

In a tank storage transfer, product stored in a terminal is transferred from the seller’s tank or account to the buyer’s, without moving it by vessel. The terminal confirms the transfer, and quantity and quality are verified independently.

Can refined products made from Russian crude be imported into the EU?

The EU prohibits the import of refined petroleum products from Russia, and recent sanctions packages also restrict products refined from Russian crude in third countries. We check origin and documentation against the current rules for every request.

What is AFQRJOS?

AFQRJOS is the Joint Inspection Group’s checklist of aviation fuel quality requirements for jointly operated systems, combining the strictest elements of DEF STAN 91-091 and ASTM D1655. Many airports require Jet A-1 to meet it.

Who checks the quality of a diesel cargo?

An independent inspection company samples and analyses the product at loading against the agreed specification, such as EN 590, and issues certificates of quality and quantity.

How do you find a diesel EN590 supplier in Europe?

Genuine suppliers are refineries, established trading houses and holders of product in recognised terminals that can be verified and accept independent inspection. Unsolicited offers with fixed procedures and upfront fees are a warning sign; every supplier must also document the origin of the product.
